What to say: "I am exercising my right under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act to have my vehicle repaired at Pro Auto Body Shop, 73 Alness St Unit 1, North York. Please arrange for your appraiser to inspect the vehicle at their facility."
The insurer's "guarantee" at their preferred shops is a risk management tool — it protects the insurer's cost exposure, not the quality of your repair. DRP shops agree to use cheaper parts and faster turnarounds to stay on the preferred list. When there is a conflict between you and the insurer, which side do you think their contracted shop is on?
