According to the Ontario Consumer Protection Act and the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRAO):
“You have the full legal right to choose any licensed auto body repair shop you trust. Insurance companies may suggest preferred shops, but they cannot requireyou to use them.”
